Paleo Chili Lime Chicken Wings

Need a quick and easy paleo snack, that can double as party food or a main dinner dish? Paleo Chili Lime Chicken Wings are just the thing. Fun and simple finger food that is perfect for sports fans and picnickers alike.

A snap to make, just measure some spices, toss with your wings, and pop ’em in the oven. Done! If you are new to paleo cooking, this recipe is perfect for building up your confidence in the kitchen. You can do this!

If I am making Paleo Chili Lime Chicken Wings, I love to pair them with my Paleo Kohlrabi Fries. Not only are they also super easy to make, they can cook in the same temperature oven, for about the same amount of time as the wings. This way, I can have both dishes in the oven at once. Less time in the kitchen, less time waiting to eat.

I buy my chicken wings in the organic section of the butcher case where they have already been clipped of their tip and disjointed. If you buy whole wings, cut the wing at each joint, leaving three pieces. Use only the two larger pieces for your Paleo Chili Lime Chicken Wings. You can let nothing go to waste by freezing the wing tips for later to make Paleo Bone Broth.

  • Prep time:  10 minutes
  • Cook time:  25 minutes
  • Servings: 4

  • 6 TBS. olive oil
  • 1/2 to 2 tsp. chili powder or chipotle chili powder (If you like hot n’ spicy use more, mild, use less. I use only 1/2 tsp.)
  • 1 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder or granules
  • 2 tsp. onion powder or granules
  • 2 tsp. ground cumin
  • 2 tsp. rice or apple cider vinegar
  • 1 TBS. paprika
  • 4 TBS. lime juice
  • 2 pounds chicken wings (separated at joint, tips removed)

1. Pre-heat oven to 475°.

2. In a large mixing bowl, combine everything except chicken.

3. Place chicken pieces in sauce and stir to coat well.

4. Place chicken on a foil lined, rimmed cookie sheet. Drizzle any sauce left in the bowl on top of the chicken pieces.

5. Bake for 15 minutes, then turn chicken and bake for another 10 minutes.

If you’d like, you can plan to let the uncooked chicken marinate in the sauce overnight in the fridge. It will have even deeper flavor throughout the chicken if it is marinated even for a couple of hours.

These Paleo Chili Lime Chicken Wings are equally good served hot or cold, and they freeze well.

These wings were great! Something I will probably have at least once a week. Super easy to make. I added just a little more fire to it.
